For some years now, we have been working towards offering holiday clubs, alongside our wraparound clubs for school-aged children. Our holiday clubs trial kicked off this year, after lots of planning. We were based at Mortimer St Mary’s Junior School where we had access to the Big Oaks Building and plenty of outdoor space, including the astroturf, quiet area, and adventure playground. Next year we hope to use the pool as well. It was wonderful to see children from many primary schools in the area having fun and making new friends. It was also great to see some ‘old’ faces, including students who returned to our holiday clubs as staff members, having previously attended The Oaks as children. We’ll be getting our planning caps on for 2023 holiday clubs very soon.
